Singapore 2025

World Sleep Congress

A Global Gathering for Sleep & Circadian Health

View Singapore 2025 Abstract

World Sleep Congress 2025 brought the global sleep and circadian health community together in Singapore for five days of scientific exchange, education, and collaboration. Researchers, clinicians, educators, technologists, industry leaders, and advocates gathered to share new findings, strengthen professional networks, and advance a field that spans disciplines, institutions, and regions.

For many participants, the congress offered a rare opportunity to connect face to face with peers who understand the scientific, clinical, and practical challenges of sleep health. World Sleep 2025 advanced science, supported evidence based practice, and reinforced a shared global commitment to improving sleep and circadian health worldwide.

What Is the World Sleep Congress?

The World Sleep Congress is the only global scientific meeting dedicated exclusively to sleep and circadian health. Organized by the World Sleep Society (WSS) in partnership with a host society, the congress exists to advance sleep science, support evidence-based clinical care, and connect professionals who often work without a large local peer community.

World Sleep Congress brings together researchers, clinicians, educators, technologists, industry partners, and advocates from across the world. The meeting creates space for interdisciplinary exchange, early exposure to emerging research, and collaboration that continues long after the congress concludes.

World Sleep Congress 2025 was organized by World Sleep Society and hosted by the Asian Society of Sleep Medicine (ASSM), reflecting a shared commitment to scientific rigor, education, and global partnership.

When and Where

World Sleep Congress 2025 took place September 5–10, 2025, in Singapore, convening at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Singapore provided a highly accessible international setting and supported strong participation from across Asia-Pacific while welcoming attendees from every global region. The location reinforced the congress’ global identity and commitment to geographic inclusivity.

Who Attended

More than 4,100 participants attended World Sleep Congress 2025, representing over 80 countries worldwide.

Attendees included clinicians and clinical researchers, basic and translational scientists, early and mid-career professionals, trainees and students, technologists and industry leaders, and representatives from policy, public health, and media sectors.

Many participants traveled long distances to attend. Others joined because the congress offered a rare opportunity to participate in a truly global meeting closer to home. For many in the field, World Sleep Congress is the primary international forum where they connect with peers who understand their work and challenges.

Scientific Program Highlights

The scientific program formed the core of World Sleep Congress 2025. With more than 350 hours of in person programming, sessions spanned the full breadth of sleep and circadian science, from fundamental research to clinical application, public health, and emerging technologies.

The program included keynote lectures from internationally recognized leaders, scientific symposia addressing clinical, translational, and basic science topics, and oral and poster abstract sessions featuring new and unpublished research. Postgraduate and continuing education courses supported professional development and continuing education.

The program reflected the interdisciplinary nature of sleep science and the growing recognition of sleep as a foundation of health. Contributors represented a wide range of disciplines, geographic regions, and career stages. Early and mid-career professionals shared work that supported career development through international presentation, discussion, and publication.

Affiliate & Partner Meetings

World Sleep Congress serves as a shared meeting point for sleep organizations worldwide. World Sleep 2025 had more Affiliate Society participation than ever before as networks chose Singapore as the site for their meetings, board sessions, and scientific gatherings, recognizing the value of convening alongside the global congress.

Host Society Focus

The Asian Society of Sleep Medicine held its 2025 meeting in conjunction with the congress. As host society, ASSM played a central role in welcoming participants, highlighting regional leadership, and fostering exchange between local, regional, and international communities.

Selected Affiliate & Partner Meetings

In conjunction with World Sleep 2025:

  • The World Dentofacial Sleep Society held a two-day scientific meeting prior to the congress
  • The Global Sleep Leadership Forum convened representatives from World Sleep Society Affiliate Societies for its first in-person meeting
  • The International Surgical Sleep Society held membership and board meetings
  • The International Sleep Science and Technology Association hosted a dedicated scientific meeting
  • The Africa Sleep Network and Nigerian Sleep Society convened a regional meeting
  • The Singapore Sleep Society hosted local and regional sessions
  • The Iran–Turkey Sleep Collaboration met during the congress

Together, these meetings reinforced World Sleep Congress as a global home where diverse parts of the sleep community connect and work together.

Community & Social Events

World Sleep Congress 2025 offered structured opportunities for connection beyond scientific sessions. Social events supported informal discussion, mentorship, and relationship building across career stages and disciplines. Community highlights included:

  • The Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception
  • The World Sleep Foundation Award Reception
  • The Gala Dinner, celebrating global collaboration

  • The Closing Ceremony, reflecting on shared progress and future directions

Sponsorship & Exhibition

The exhibition and sponsorship program supported meaningful engagement between attendees and industry partners working across sleep diagnostics, therapeutics, technology, and services.

More than 60 exhibitors and sponsors participated during exhibition days aligned with the core scientific program. Exhibitors engaged directly with clinicians, researchers, educators, and decision makers throughout the congress.

World Sleep Society extends sincere thanks to all sponsors and exhibitors for their support. Singapore provided an outstanding setting for dialogue between industry and the global sleep community.

Why World Sleep Congress Matters

Sleep medicine and sleep research are often practiced within small teams or as specialized areas within larger institutions. Many professionals work without a local peer group that shares their focus.

World Sleep Congress brings the field together at a global scale. It creates space to exchange ideas, challenge assumptions, share findings before publication, and build collaborations that continue long after the meeting ends.

World Sleep Congress 2025 strengthened the global sleep community and advanced shared work to improve sleep and circadian health worldwide. The World Sleep Society carries this momentum forward through future congresses, programs, and partnerships.
