Caution!

Professional conference attendees are common targets for fraud.

Fraudulent emails are significantly cheaper and easier to write using new chat bots like ChatGPT.

Fraudulent emails now read more naturally and persuasively than ever before. See a real example below!

Know the signs of fraudulent emails!

Recognize a Suspicious Email

Is the email account from @worldsleepsociety.org, @icsevents.com, or @preseria.com?

Only emails from @worldsleepsociety.org, @icsevents.com, or @preseria.com are legitimate.

Don’t depend only on the “from” name. The “from” name is very easy to change into anything.

Notice the example to the right. This is a real email an attendee received. The email “from” name is World Sleep Society, yet the email domain is @adexec.com, which is not related to official World Sleep activities or communications whatsoever.
