Opening Ceremony

Begin your Congress journey with a shared moment of connection and celebration
The Opening Ceremony brings together attendees from around the world to officially launch World Sleep Congress 2027. The evening will include welcome remarks from World Sleep Society leadership, recognition of the global community, and an opportunity to connect with colleagues in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The Opening Ceremony and its associated reception are included with full Congress registration and do not require a separate ticket. A reception with light refreshments will follow, creating space to reconnect, meet new collaborators, and set the tone for the days ahead.

Celebrate the achievements of the global sleep community while supporting the next generation of leaders in the field
Held on the Level 7 Marquee at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, this elevated and spacious setting provides a unique atmosphere for connection, conversation, and recognition. Attendees will enjoy food and drinks alongside brief award presentations honoring emerging investigators and their contributions to sleep science.
Proceeds from this event directly support the World Sleep Foundation’s New Investigator Fund, helping to provide travel and registration support for early-career researchers presenting their work at the Congress.

Join colleagues from around the world for an evening dedicated to celebration, connection, and community
The Gala Dinner is a highlight of the World Sleep social program, offering a warm and engaging setting where conversations continue beyond the day’s sessions. It is an opportunity to strengthen relationships, build new connections, and celebrate the collective impact of the global sleep community.
Set in Montreal, this evening will reflect the city’s vibrant culture and welcoming spirit while creating a memorable shared experience for all attendees.

Over 300 posters will be presented at each session.
Wednesday | Closing Ceremony at 6:15pm
Take some time at the end of Wednesday to join us for the closing ceremony of World Sleep 2027. Closing remarks will be made by World Sleep Society leadership along with announcement of the election results and a preview of our next destination in 2029.
A reception will follow with drinks and light appetizers.
